This artist spent three years researching all the products made from a single pig. The variety of objects is astonishing. Who knew? I love the way he displayed the objects, in tidy little meat packages in open meat refrigerators. The viewer is aware of the artist's efforts to present the objects in a way that is pristine and neat, as a reference, but the viewer is unable to forgot the history of the object due to the implications within the display form. Great peice of art, as well as artist mind!

Magnificent Metropolis
Silent, directed by Fritz lang, 1927.
We love us some weird movies! We were intrigued by this one not only because of its history and mad science and magic, but also because it is riddled with occult/esoteric symbolism. Very very interesting. I have a relatively general conception of occult symbolism, and I cannot tell you how greatly it has enriched my cinematic, commercial, literature, and art experiences. I recommend looking into knights templar/freemasonry symbols, satanic ritual symbols, tarot symbols and how they relate to Roman, Greek as well as Egyptian myths, and catholic symbols in relation to the Vatican.
Anyway, Metropolis was amazing. Look at that sexy, crazy, robot lady. My husband and I were thoroughly impressed. Beautifully filmed and scary! I hear there's a new edit playing selectively that has a modern soundtrack- I'd love to check it out! Anyone have any thoughts on this movie and how it relates to symbols and magic?

Thank Goodness!
There are some people, places, and things and verbs that I want to point out/thank for recently bringing joy into my life. Without them, my time between projects would be pretty dull right now!
In no particular order:
1) Ginny Branch Stelling of My Favorite Color is Shiny.
She makes wonderfully endearing and full of love lists of thanks. They remind me that there truly is always something to be thankful for, and they really warm my heart! She inspired me to make this post.
And hats off to a fellow hopeless romantic!
2) The fabulous creator of Luxirare.
impressed/totally envious/inspired.
3) The movie Roxanne with the ever wonderfully hilarious Steve Martin:
One of the funniest most romantic movies ever. If you listen to the incredible things Steve Martin's character says- you'll be swooning! Watched it last night and simply couldn't get enough romantic language, and so picked up a wonderful book that my boss gifted me as a wedding present:
4) Love Poems by Pablo Neruda.
In You The Earth
Little
rose,
roselet,
at times,
tiny and naked,
it seems
as though you would fit
in one of my hands,
as though I'll clasp you like this
and carry you to my mouth,
but
suddenly
my feet touch your feet and my mouth your lips:
you have grown,
your shoulders rise like two hills,
your breasts wander over my breast,
my arm scarcely manages to encircle the thin
new-moon line of your waist:
in love you have loosened yourself like sea water:
I can scarcely measure the sky's most spacious eyes
and I lean down to your mouth to kiss the earth.
Sigh.........
5) Making jewelry!
I've been going crazy making jewelry lately. My apt building used to be an elementary school and I've convinced myself that our apartment was the art class, and so there are creativity spirits lingering in the air. Seriously, though, I've never spent so much time making things- and never been so lucky as to actually like 90% of the results! Stay tuned for images of the necklaces I've been working on........
Sorry for the following lousy image credit, here goes: I found all these images on Google! Please alert me if you know where they actually came from.....
