Eons of Neons

I don't know about you, but personally, I love a piece of neon jewelry. Not just any kind- but the sort of influenced by disgusting plastics/techno/travel/deep-soul-freedom melded with the love of hand crafting techniques. Just dazzling for my rods and cones, it's like neon flouro dance parties in my eyeballs. Anyway point being that this lovely person is making some fantastic stuff and I wanted to share it with those of you who are unaware.

Totally fabulash.

Glorious

Look at these ammmmmmazzzzzzzzzzing lucite sculptures by Philip Low. Love love love. Wish I had a room made out of colored, sculptural lucite- I could go in and dream and imagine for hours.
On view at Maryam Nassir Zadeh, NY.

Christien Meindertsma

This artist spent three years researching all the products made from a single pig. The variety of objects is astonishing. Who knew? I love the way he displayed the objects, in tidy little meat packages in open meat refrigerators. The viewer is aware of the artist's efforts to present the objects in a way that is pristine and neat, as a reference, but the viewer is unable to forgot the history of the object due to the implications within the display form. Great peice of art, as well as artist mind!

I don't know if I can ever eat marshmallows in good conscience again :(

Magnificent Metropolis

Silent, directed by Fritz lang, 1927.

We love us some weird movies! We were intrigued by this one not only because of its history and mad science and magic, but also because it is riddled with occult/esoteric symbolism. Very very interesting. I have a relatively general conception of occult symbolism, and I cannot tell you how greatly it has enriched my cinematic, commercial, literature, and art experiences. I recommend looking into knights templar/freemasonry symbols, satanic ritual symbols, tarot symbols and how they relate to Roman, Greek as well as Egyptian myths, and catholic symbols in relation to the Vatican.

Anyway, Metropolis was amazing. Look at that sexy, crazy, robot lady. My husband and I were thoroughly impressed. Beautifully filmed and scary! I hear there's a new edit playing selectively that has a modern soundtrack- I'd love to check it out! Anyone have any thoughts on this movie and how it relates to symbols and magic?

Revisiting OZ

My husband and I watched Return to Oz last night- pretty great! Don't compare it to the original, but rather judge it for itself.
